Pacific Coast Augments Packaging Efforts for
Bendistillery's Crater Lake Vodkas, Cascade Mountain Gin
When
Bendistillery of Bend, Ore., was about to introduce its exclusive
small-batch, super-premium Crater Lake Vodkas and Cascade
Mountain Gin, it engaged the services of Saxco Pacific Coast
of Vancouver, Wash., to assist with the packaging.
Saxco Pacific Coast is one of the Saxco International family
of companies which is headquartered in Horsham, Pa. Saxco
Pacific Coast is a leading distributor of glass and plastic
bottles and jars, tableware and tasting room pub glasses,
metal and plastic closures, corks, capsules, and label and
case-seal adhesives.
For Crater Lake Vodkas, Saxco Pacific Coast sourced and supplied
750-mL flat-bottom, flint claret bottles from O-I Glass in
British Columbia, Canada. For Cascade Mountain Gin, it provided
a 750-mL flat-bottom, flint burgundy bottle from Saint Gobain
in Madera, Calif. O-I Glass and Saint Gobain are prominent
resources in Saxco Pacific’s extensive global network
of vendors.
In addition, Saxco Pacific Coast arranged for both bottles
to be frosted, utilizing an organic spray paint process completed
by Quest of Stockton, Calif., another vendor in its wide-ranging
resource network.
The attractive multi-colored graphics for the pressure-sensitive
labels for both spirits were created by Bendistillery’s
design firm in California. The bottles were finished off with
a plastic T-top with a synthetic cork stopper, augmented with
a simulated tax seal strip. The T-tops were supplied by Bendistillery
through Supreme Cork in Washington state.
According to Jim Bendis, founder and CEO of Bendistillery,
“Crater Lake Vodkas are slowly filtered 10 times through
charcoal and crushed volcanic rock and then aged slightly
in oak. This technique is long and painstaking but makes Crater
Lake one of the smoothest vodkas in the world with a soft,
spring water feel that hints slightly of vanilla.”
Cascade Mountain Gin is a return to the original flavor and
spirit of gin. It is crafted with wild, handpicked juniper
berries from the central Oregon high desert plateau. It is
made with only fresh, natural botanicals.
Both spirits are targeted to the serious spirit connoisseur
and are offered for an average retail price of $24.95 for
the 750-mL size. Bendis says that Cascade Mountain Gin and
Crater Lake Vodkas are marketed in 22 U.S. states, mainly
in the Northwest section of the country.
Bendis worked closely on the project with Gary McMahon, account
manager and beer industry manager for Saxco Pacific Coast.
Saxco Pacific Coast is located at 11010 NE 37th Circle, #110,
Vancouver, Wash., and can be reached at 360-892-3451.
